T. Don Beasley Jr., 70, of Belton, Missouri, formerly of Adrian, died Friday, June 20, at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home in Belton.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, north of Chilhowee, with the Rev. Chris Emerson and Dr. Gerald Berry officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg. Pallbearers will be David Beasley, Richard Beasley, Jim Ruhter, Nicholas Ruhter, Jim Powell, Dennis Todd, Jeremiah Todd and Darwin Todd.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Don was born July 21, 1943, in Pittsburg, Kansas, the son of T. Donald Beasley Sr. and Virginia Louise (Shields) Beasley. He was raised in Pittsburg, having graduated from Pittsburg High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Pittsburg State College. He served in the United States Air Force Reserves. Don was united in marriage to Doris E. Dori Preston on Oct. 30, 1969, in Miami, Oklahoma.
The couple resided in several Missouri communities until to moving to Greenwood in 1988. Next, they made their home in both Clinton and Adrian prior to moving to Belton in 2011. Don was a truck driver with Earp Distribution until retiring in 2010. Don trusted Christ as his Savior on Oct. 21, 1970. His passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, traveling and camping in their RV.
Survivors include his wife, Dori; daughter, Laura Ruhter and husband, Jim, of Belton, Missouri; stepdaughter, Darlene Cox and husband, Ron, of Harrisonville, Missouri; two stepsons, Troy Dempsey and wife, Patricia, of Chilhowee, Missouri; and Todd Dempsey of Warrensburg, Missouri; sister, Patricia Valentine of Scottsdale, Arizona; two brothers, David Beasley and wife, Jackie, of Canton, Ohio; and Richard Beasley and wife, Rhonda, of Derby, Kansas; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, T. Donald Beasley Sr., and his mother, Virginia Louise Smith.
