Tigers finish second at state cross country

The Warrensburg boys cross country team took second place at the state meet Saturday at the Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City, Mo., finishing just seven points behind meet champion Festus.

This was the 34th appearance by the boys’ team and the 18th time WHS Boys squad came home with a state trophy, according to WHS information.

In the girls’ race, Shannon Ward finished her senior season with a 10th place All-State performance with a time of 20:02.

The All State Runners from WHS are: Ward, 10th; Alex Burson, fourth; Trent Classen, fifth; J.P. Espinoza, 16th; and Max Burson, 23rd.
