Jim Bob “Hank” Odle, 82, of Warrensburg, died Friday, Jan. 25 at his home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with the Rev. Jim Richards officiating.
Interment will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville at 3 p.m.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 29, 1930, in Westville, Okla., the son of Hinds and Nancy (Claxton) Odle.
He was united in marriage on July 2, 1982, to Ruth Batrez in Kansas City, Kan.
Jim joined and served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years and retired as tech sergeant.
He later worked as an over-the-road truck driver for several years with various companies until he retired. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Knob Noster; a member of the Knob Noster VFW Post 4195; a member of the Warrensburg American Legion Post 131; a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association.
Jim is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Jim Odle Jr. and wife, Maija, of Hill City, S.D., and John Flores and wife, Rachel, of Kansas City, Kan.; three daughters, Nancy Lynn Adams and husband, Jim, of Roy, Utah; Victoria Gonzales and husband, Gilbert, of Kansas City, Kan.; and Nancy Beach, of California; two sisters, Nadine French, of Boliver, Mo.; and Paddy Tillisch, of Grove, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Gean Freeman.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Knob Noster and can be left the funeral home in Warrensburg.
