Margaret L. Draper Kirkpatrick

Margaret Lee Draper Kirkpatrick, 93, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Knob Noster, died surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Rose Estates in Overland Park, Kan.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Brother Charles Brant officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Knox, Larry Knox, Thomas Barnes, Brad Draper, Joe Zagar, Jim Knox, Rex Musick, and Dustin Draper. Honorary pallbearers will be Deborah Torson, John Knox, and Kathryn Krause.

Interment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 20, 1919, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Harry Jennings and Mary Fern Price Drinkwater.

She was united in marriage to William Gordon Draper. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1971. She later married Arthur Kirkpatrick. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2003.

Margaret retired from the Veterans Hospital in Topeka, Kan. after many years of service. She continued caring by volunteering at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kan. where she received an award for over 3000 hours of service.

Margaret is survived by her twin daughters, Carolyn Roberts and husband Cal, of Olathe, Kan., and Marilyn Knox, of Rocky Comfort, Mo.; two sons, William Harry Draper, and Larry Emery Draper and wife Vivian, all of Knob Noster; daughter, Sharon Hauser and husband Jerry, of Gold Canyon, Ariz. She will truly be missed by her five children, 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Crossroads Hospice, 11150 Thompson Avenue, Lenexa, KS 66219.
