Mateo eliminated from NCAA-II Wrestling Championships

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) – Mules wrestler Eric Mateo saw his season come to an end after going 0-2 in the NCAA-II Championships Friday, March 8 in Birmingham.

Mateo faced Indianapolis’ Justin Kieffer in the opening round of the 141 pound NCAA-II Championships and was pinned 1:18 into the match to drop him into the consolation bracket where he faced Kutztown’s Evan Yenolevich in an elimination match. Mateo came up short, falling 10-4.

The St. Robert, Mo. native ends his redshirt-sophomore season with a record of 21-21.
