Marvin M. “Red” Racy, 83, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Monday, July 28, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 31, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Pastor John Phillips officiating.
Interment followed at Sunset Hill Cemetery with full military honors provided by Warrensburg American Legion Post 131 and VFW Post 2513.
He was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Kingston, Missouri, the son of Irvin Edward and Hattie Lue (Silkwood) Racy.
He was united in marriage to Marjorie McGirl on April 28, 1958, in the home of the Rev. Herbert Woodruff in Warrensburg.
Marvin joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. After the military, he worked as a wastewater operator for the city of Warrensburg and retired after more than 30 years of service.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clifford Eugene, Harvey Edward and John Richard Racy; and two sisters, Mary Lue Kennally and Ida Pearl Mifflin.
