Ruby Jean McCaskill, 81, Holden, Mo., passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, at Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home, Holden, Mo..  Visitation will be 7–9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Holden Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions are suggested to Johnson County Hospice.

She was born in Holden on Nov. 17, 1931 the daughter of Floyd and Ruby Leta (Taylor) Fitzgerel.

She was a 1949 graduate of Holden High School and worked for Mahnken Veterinary Service for a while and for many years in the meat department of Gerbes Supermarket in Holden.

On June 29, 1951 she married Jerry Dean McCaskill in Arkansas.  He preceded her in death Oct. 15, 2004.

Surviving her passing are one son, Dennis McCaskill, Holden, Mo.; two brothers, Glenn Fitzgerel, Independence, Mo., and Ray Fitzgerel, Holden, Mo.; two granddaughters, Dee Quinn and Jaymie McCaskill, both of Holden; and three great-grand children , Jacob Quinn, Lauren Newsome, and Ella Swearingen.
