(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – Duard “Putt” Swope received the University of Central Missouri’s Outstanding Support Staff Member Award at the group’s annual breakfast April 10.
Annette Charles, chair of the awards committee, presented the award to Swope, who was nominated by his peers.
Swope has served as a broadcast engineer for KMOS-TV, UCM’s public broadcasting station, for 31 years. As a member of the station’s engineering team, he installs and maintains broadcast and production equipment and provides technical support.
In his nomination, Swope was recognized for his tireless efforts to assure uninterrupted, quality programming by KMOS, including traveling to remote tower sites and responding “on call” as needed. He also was recognized for weathering the changes in technology and mentoring the UCM students who work at the station.
Swope and his wife, Victoria, also a member of the UCM support staff, are residents of Warrensburg.
