Jerry D. Inman, 79, of Warrensburg, Mo., died Saturday, May 17, at the Warrensburg Veterans Home.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Pastor Rich Ricard of Bethel Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville with Military Honors provided by Whiteman Air Force Base Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jerry was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Gravois Mills, Mo. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952, having served in both the Vietnam War and Korean War. He was stationed in Albany, Ga., where he married Mildred Grace Tinsley on Oct. 2, 1953. Due to Jerry’’s military career, following Albany, the couple lived in Tonapah, Nev.; San Antonio, Texas; Fairbanks, Alaska; Fayetteville, N.C.; and Victorville, Calif. Upon retiring from the Air Force in 1972, the couple moved to Pleasant Hill. During this time, Jerry became employed with the Kansas City Post Office as a letter carrier at Leed’s Station. He also served on the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He retired from the main post office in 1985 as a clerk. The couple would eventually move to Lee’’s Summit and Blue Springs prior to making Warrensburg their home in 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy and Randy of Odessa, Mo., and Vada and Pat of Lee’’s Summit; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace, his parents and a sister in infancy.
