Conny Sue Jenkins

Conny Sue Jenkins, 60, of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Friday, June 27, at her home.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Grant Cemetery in Creighton, Missouri, with Brother Charles Brant officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 30, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri.

She was born June 18, 1954, in Clinton, Missouri, the daughter of William Bryan and Vera LaVerne (Montgomery) Jennings.

She was united in marriage to Wallace Jenkins on July 14, 1978, in the Knob Noster Methodist Church.

Conny was a graduate of Knob Noster High School, class of 1972. She worked with the U.S. Postal Service for more than 34 years and retired as postmaster in Hughesville, Missouri. She enjoyed fishing and was the first female to fish in the Pro Bass Tournament.

Conny is survived by two sisters, Kay O’Bannon of Kansas City, Kansas, and Beverly Bowers of Clinton; two brothers, Ray Jennings and wife, Linda, of Knob Noster; and Lonny Jennings and wife, Paula, of Superior, Wyoming; one aunt, June Dehn of Clinton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wallace, on Nov. 2, 2007; and two brothers, Billy Vern and Jimmy Jennings.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Kidney Association or the American Diabetes Association or the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145, and all can be left in care of the funeral home.
