Ellen Irene Tinder, 74, of Holden, Missouri, died Sunday, Aug. 10.
A visitation will be from 9:30-10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home in Holden. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Ben Cast & Son Wood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holden Cemetery.
She was born in Versailles, Missouri, on July 23, 1940, a daughter of George Lee Pearl sr., and Mable Lee (Kitner) Pearl. She married Dennis Wayne Tinder on May 21, 1981. Dennis preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2011. Ellen was a certified nurse’s aide and a certified medical technician at Johnson County Care Center in Warrensburg. Ellen served as the president of the Holden Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for many years.
Surviving her passing are two daughters, Teresa McGuire of Holden; and Cherrill Paul of Warrensburg; one brother, George Franklin Pearl; three sisters, Darlene Barry of Independence, Missouri; Elaine Vessel of Modesto, California; and Barbara Schruck of Independence; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Lloyd Purl and George Pearl, preceded her in death.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ben Cast & Son Wood Funeral Home.
