Ruby Elizabeth (Collins) Meyrand, 82, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Sunday, March 29, at Vitas Hospice in Kansas City, Missouri.

Graveside Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens. There will be open visitation from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg.

Ruby was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Watson, Missouri, the daughter of Wade Baxter Collins and Hattie Catherine (Wolf) Collins. She was united in marriage to Bobby Dale Meyrand on Sept. 5, 1948, in Rock Port, Missouri. Ruby was an employee at Unitog in Warrensburg for nearly 35 years. She was lifetime member and Past President of both American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She was also a member of Royal Neighbors and AARP. Ruby loved to bowl, garden, cook and lots of crafts, including quilting, knitting, embroidery, canvas art, ceramics and painting.

She is survived by her son, Walen D. Meyrand ,of Holden, Missouri; daughter, Diana L. Meyrand and Tom Lowman, of Kansas City, Missouri; son, Robert D. Meyrand and wife, Rhonda of Leeton, Missouri; brother, Harold Collins and wife, Donna, of Missouri Valley, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Helen Branson, Dorothy Sanders and Mary Ellen Betchel; brother-in-law, Charles Meyrand; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; brother, Stan Collins Sr., and two sons, Roy E. Meyrand and Jeffrey L. Meyrand.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral chapel.
