Delbert “Lee” Newman, 64, of Sedalia, Missouri, died Monday, Nov. 16, at his home.

He was born Dec. 2, 1950, in Warrensburg, Missouri, the son of Ira Lee and Betty Lou (Saling) Newman.

Lee worked in maintenance at nursing homes and then at the Missouri State Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

Lee is survived by his four children, Melisa Schow, of North Ridgeville, Ohio; Robert Lee Newman, of West Virginia; Amy Newman Sandy, of Kansas City, Missouri; and Matthew Newman, of Missouri; longtime companion, Carlene Case, of Sedalia; twin brother, Elbert Dee Newman, of Junction City, Kansas; one sister, Glenda Kay Dill, of Garden City, Missouri; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bobby Ray Newman; and one sister, Betty Jean Wangler.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with visitation services beginning at 10 a.m.

Inurnment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery near Chilhowee, Missouri.
