WMMC offers cardiac screenings
February 3, 2016 @ 7:00 am - 4:30 pm
$50The Western Missouri Medical Center is offering cardiac calcium-score screenings through the Diagnostic Imaging Department for $50. February is American Heart Month, so WMMC is encouraging community members to give the gift of preventative heart health this Valentine’s Day with a gift certificate for this screening, which can be purchased in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, located off the Outpatient Entrance.
A cardiac calcium-score screening is a safe, painless test used to assess the risk for heart attack by measuring the amount of calcium in the walls of arteries that supply the heart with blood, according to the WMMC’s news release. The exam is non-invasive and uses a computerized tomography (CT) scan that takes less than 30 minutes. Cardiac calcium-score screenings enable patients to determine their risk for heart disease and work with their physician to take action.
Screenings are offered Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 660-262-7370. For more information, visit wmmc.com.
