Michael Lee “Mike” Laughman Sr., 63, of Kansas City, Missouri, died Friday, Feb. 19, at Indian Creek Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Brother Charles Brant officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Livengood, Eugene Bentley, Everett Cates, Michael Laughman II, Dave Moore and Doug Bentley. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the funeral home.

Mike was born Oct. 10, 1952, in Warrensburg, Missouri, the son of Jacob Lee and Mary (Shore) Laughman.

Mike served in the U.S. Navy before working as a truck driver and later as a radio personality.

Mike is survived by a son, Michael Laughman II, and wife, Brittney, of Peculiar, Missouri; three daughters, Katie Moore and husband, Dave, of Adrian, Missouri; Anneliese Andretti, of Parkville, Missouri; Melinda Laughman, of Reno, Nevada; eight grandchildren, Alexandria, Sydney, Adrianna, Madilynn, Dylan, Marcella, Beckett and Sawyer; and a sister, Sharon Robinson, and husband, Jimmy, of Centerview, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steve Laughman.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Paralyzed Veterans of America or Crossroads Hospice and can be left in care of the funeral home.
