Barbara Carroll Carter, 75, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Sunday, May 29, at Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with the Rev. Hubert Neth officiating. Interment will follow in the Pittsville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Carter, Craig Bowland, Logan Carter, Luke Carter, Chad Bowland, Brian Bowland and Ryley Matthews. Honorary pallbearers will be Judy Elsberry, Laura Smith, Jacque Harmon, Millie Barnes and Whitney Heflin.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Barbara was born July 21, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Elston Llewelyn Vette and Carroll (Britt) Vette. She was united in marriage to Earl “Thomas” Carter on Sept. 7, 1957, in Warrensburg. The couple made their home in Lee’s Summit from 1960 until returning to Warrensburg in 1970. Barb helped at the family’s appliance store for many years. In 1993, she became a real estate agent with Elsberry Realty. She enjoyed golfing, floral gardening and shopping. Barb was also known for going all out for Christmas each year. She especially enjoyed following her grandchildren’s many events.

Survivors include her son, John M. Carter; and two daughters, Kimberly D. Carter and Karen D. Bowland and husband, Craig, all of Warrensburg; sister, Gail “Pokie” LeVasseur, of Midland, Michigan; six grandchildren, Logan Carter and significant other, Becky Rowe; Luke Carter and significant other, Brettni Bishop; Lauren Carter, Chad Bowland and fiancé, Melondy Hall; Brooke Matthews and husband, Ryley; and Brian Bowland and wife, Ashley; and seven great-grandchildren, Audrey Lynn Bowland, Blaine Andrew Bowland, Blake Carroll Bowland, Easton Bryce Matthews, McKenna Grace Roach, Tessa Nicole Roach and Rylee Jolene Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, in 2015; her parents; brother-in-law, Gerald LeVasseur; and aunt, Barbara Vette.
