Juanita graduated from Warrensburg High school in 1936. Following graduation, she attended Kansas City School of Business while living with her brother, Clarence and his wife Davajean. She returned to Warrensburg and attended CMU for two years, studying business. She worked in the Placement Office for .25 an hour to pay her tuition.

Juanita and Byron House Lane were married October 14, 1940. They had known eachother since high school. They met at the Love Feast held at the Old Dunkard Church north of Knob Noster. While she was in school in Kansas City, he would drive up to visit her often.
Their first home was the dish house behind his parents’ farm house. (Earl and Ruth)
In 1941, they moved to the farmhouse that would be their home together until Byron passed in 1997.

In 1954, Juanita went to work for the Knob Noster School superintendent, James Jageman for 10 years. She then took the civil service exam, and was placed in the Finance Department at Whiteman AFB.

She and Byron had two daughters, Barbara and Nancy. Juanita was a talented, smart, organized and creative wife and mother. She could drive a wheat wagon, crochet a doily, create a stained glass window, or shoot a black snake.  In addition to being a wife, mother, and career woman, she also helped with 4H, extension club, Farm Bureau, square dancing and church activities. She and Byron were dedicated members of the Knob Noster United Methodist Church. They both were involved with choir, youth groups, and held offices on many committees. Juanita was known as the ” flower lady” as she supplied the altar flowers each Sunday, and were often from her own garden.

Juanita Lane is survived by her daughters, Dr. Barbara Jean Lane Hart and Roger Davis, of Tyler, Texas, and Nancy Hageman and Stan, of Wausa, Nebraska. Grandchildren and great- grandchildren include Mikal and Tina Hart (Rachel and Gabriel), Damon and Sandy Hart (Byron and Sylvie), Shannon Hart (Nate and Marin), Travis and Susan Hageman (Andrew and James), Jarrod and Amy Hageman, Ross Hageman, and Kaetlyn Hageman.
