(HAZELWOOD, Mo., AP) — Pizza companies in the St. Louis area are working together to protect drivers following fatal shootings on two deliverymen in recent months.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/QH0yJt) reports that pizza franchise owners from around the region gathered Wednesday in Hazelwood to discuss strategies. Drivers and police were also in attendance.
St. Louis County police have already begun a program posing undercover officers as pizza drivers. One thing the companies agreed on was to share phone numbers of problem customers with each other.
Two drivers for Imo’s Pizza have been killed in ambush attacks since May.
