Darlene Joy Wright, 82, died on Tuesday, Oct. 31, in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Internment will follow the service in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
She was born on New Year’s Day, 1935, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Fred Lupton and Bernice (Cruse) Lupton.
She was united in marriage to Fell F. “Sonny” Wright, Jr. and to this union were born two sons.
Darlene was a member of First Baptist Church and most recently a member of Church of Hope. In her sons’ younger years, she participated in PTA and Cub Scouts. She enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening. She loved collecting antiques and had a booth at Those Were The Days.
Darlene is survived by her son, Michel Wright, wife, Lynette, of Sedalia, Missouri; son, Larry Wright, wife, Sandy, of Warrensburg; grandchildren, Dean Wright, Jr., wife, Michah, Travis Wright, wife, Staci, and Jonathan Wright, wife, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Hunter Wright and companion, Oliver Doerflinger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and three sisters.
