Calvin William James

Calvin William James, 98, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died on Tuesday, March 27, after a brief illness.There will be a graveside service at Sunset Hill Cemetery on Monday, April 2, at 10 a.m.

Calvin was born in Chilhowee, Missouri, on April 29, 1919, the only child to Elbert and Maudie James.

A World War II veteran, Calvin served in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1946. ​He worked for the Civil Service at Whiteman Air Force Base until he retired in 1984. He also served on the board of trustees and acted as treasurer for Shiloh Cemetery near Chilhowee until 2010.

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helene James, his son Joe James, and his daughter, Sue James Wilson. He is survived by his son-in- law, Tom Wilson, of Boston, Massachusetts.
