Jesse Wayne Truex, 69, died at his home on April 10, in Warrensburg, Missouri.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at Sweeney-Phillips Holdren Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Holden Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the funeral home.

Jesse was born on May 25, 1948 in Warrensburg to Gordon Lee and Bertha Irene Truex. He grew up in western Johnson County where he attended school in Holden, Missouri, and later graduated high school in 1967. Jesse then worked and retired from Harmon/GE Transportation in Warrensburg.

Jesse was an avid sportsman, and enjoyed football and gardening. He also enjoyed hunting but was a GREAT fisherman. Jesse is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Truex, and parents Gordon and Bertha Truex.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey W. Truex and wife Melissa, and grandchildren Kinsley and Paisley of Columbia, Missouri; brother, James and Ima Truex of Warrensburg; nephew Terry and Stephanie Truex of Warrensburg, and nephew Toby and Teresa Truex of Garden City; great-nephew, great-nieces and step-children.
