Jeanne Elizabeth (Neal) Jackson, died Sunday, June 3, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.Services were 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg. Interment followed at Centerview Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time.
Jeanne was born Feb. 5, 1954, along with her twin sister, Judith, in Marshal, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Robert T. Neal and Helen Neal Simon of Warrensburg.
Jeanne graduated from College High School in Warrensburg. She was also a graduate of Floral Technology and Design in Leawood, Kansas. She worked as a floral designer at Flowers by Ferdinand in Warrensburg, was a co-owner of Classic Flowers in Warrensburg, and co-owner of Ye Olde Flower Shoppe in Warrensburg.
As a floral designer of 40 years, Jeanne and her twin sister were featured designers at the Missouri State Fair, Stuppy Floral Products, Kansas City Flower and Lawn Show, and Wholesalers in Springfield, Missouri. She created floral designs for many celebrities such as Barbara Bush, George Brett, and many TV celebrities.
She enjoyed activities such as quilting, making penny rugs, and creating folk art items under “Jeannie’s Things.”
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Jerry Jackson of Warrensburg and two sons; Joshua L. Jackson and Jordan W. Jackson both of Warrensburg, she is also survived by her sister Janice (Phillip) Schneider of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and a brother; Robert (Margaret) Neal of Leeton, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her heart. Jeanne was preceded in death by her twin sister, Judith E. Looper, a brother-in-law, Ray Looper, and her father, Robert T. Neal.
As a special request Jeanne asked that in lieu of memorial contributions you support your local florist by sending flowers to the funeral home, or one of the many adult care facilities in Warrensburg.
