Marvin Eugene Barker, 74, Independence, Missouri, formally of Holden, Missouri, died Sept. 13 at St. Luke’s East, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sept. 20, at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Sept. 21, at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at the Kingsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Barker, Cody Barker, Brandon Wilson, Corey Wilson, Kaleb Wilson, Marty Barker and Kiesha Shephard.
Marvin was born in Holden, July 11, 1944 to Willard Barker and Betty Jean (Cox) Barker. He attended school in Holden through the 11th grade and shortly after leaving high school Marvin enlisted in the United States Army. Marvin spent most of his adult life driving a truck, with his last truck driving job being with CMT Trucking in Independence, Missouri. One of Marvin’s passions was riding motorcycles with his wife, Carolyn.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; one son, Marty Barker and wife, Linda, of Gladstone, Missouri; two daughters, Marsha Stansbury and husband Eric, Holden, Jannine Barker, Arma Kansas; one brother, Joseph Barker, Nevada, Missouri; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by four brothers, Larry Barker, Donald Barker, Charles Barker and Roy Barker.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Brotherhood For Children Kansas City, Missouri, in memory of Marvin Eugene Barker.
