Mary Etta (Ramsey) Faulkenberry, 81, died Dec. 6 at the Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation facility in Pleasant Hill, Mo.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 10 at the Baptist Church in Lone Jack, Mo., and will be handled by Ben Cast and Son – Wood Funeral Home, of Holden, Mo. Burial will be in the Lone Jack Cemetery.
Mrs. Faulkenberry was born on Dec. 10, 1930 in Higginsville, Mo. She was the daughter of Jesse Minshell Ramsey and Jessie Robinson (Jennings) Ramsey.
Both of her parents, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Mary is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gene Lee Faulkenberry of the home (who she married in 1949); and three children, Teresa Ann Faulkenberry, of Tallahassee, Fla., Maj. Gen. Barbara Jean Faulkenberry, of the U.S. Air Force, and Russell Irwin Faulkenberry, of the home. She is also survived by three grand children, Jesse Jay Faulkenberry and his wife, Della Evelyn (Bressman) Faulkenberry, of Tarsney Lakes, Mo.; Alicia Lee Faulkenberry, of the home; and Curtis Andrew Faulkenberry, of the home. She had three great grand children, Jesse’s children, Tristan Jay Faulkenberry, Isobella Paige Faulkenberry, and Jacob Russell Faulkenberry.
Mary graduated from Holden High School in 1949. She spent several years as a typist for various firms. She took several courses at Purdue University in Indiana. In November 1973, she took over as manager of the Sperry Microwave Credit Union in Clearwater, Fla. She retired from the Credit Union in February 1985. She spent the rest of her years on the farm in Lone Jack.
