Dear Editor,
The federal subsidy for health coverage for the 525,000 Missouri residents has me very concerned.
The Missouri residents that fall in or under the poverty level would benefit greatly, but overall this is a bad thing. With the annual poverty level being just under $24,000, the government should really re-consider this plan.
“That means a family of four could be eligible for aid while earning up to $94,200.” (UCMnews) The previous statement is a prime example of the type of abuse that could occur. In reality it would be legality, but if one is above the poverty level they should not be eligible.
The government needs to re-think and re-construct this health insurance aid. After all where would this money be coming from?
Sincerely,
Matt Tyler
