(KANSAS CITY, Mo., AP) — A Kansas City hospital has been awarded a $200,000 federal grant to teach health care students about environmental hazards that can affect children in their homes.
The Environmental Protection Agency says Children’s Mercy Hospital is getting the money to fund its Environmental Education for Health Care Initiative. The project will emphasize indoor air quality and pesticide use.
The EPA says the project will focus on increasing health care education and improving indoor air quality in homes in rural, urban, low-income and minority communities.
