James Frederick Meyer, 53, of Warrensburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 28 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., surrounded by his family.
James was born Jan. 6, 1959, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of William and Mary (Iseminger) Meyer.
He was employed as a groundskeeper at the University of Central Missouri for 23 years.
James will be remembered as a kind, humble, honest and hardworking man who possessed a profound intellect and keen wit.
James is survived by two brothers: Eric Meyer and Keith Meyer and wife Debra, all of Warrensburg; two sisters: Janet Abel of Bridgeville, Pa.; and Mary Jane Stoneking of Lee’s Summit; and his companion Jacque Marshall of Warrensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and can be left in care of the funeral home.
