Photo Story: Leaving a legacy of kindness

Not the kind of man to hold back, Osborne sits and shares recipes with Johnson County, Kan., residents and new customers, Ann Spicer and Joy Bowler, on Monday at the Powell Gardens Cafe Thyme. Bowler and Spicer said they are already planning a return visit. Osborne is one of three partners that helped to open the café, which gets most of its food from the edible landscape at Powell Gardens.

(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) – Eddie Osborne, 62, is hardly ever seen without a smile. Once a resident of Blairstown, he has been a resident of Warrensburg for 27 years. He is a man who wears many hats and has his hand in co-owning a café at Powell Gardens 20 miles west of Warrensburg, producing a radio show on 90.9 FM The Bridge and seeking political office. Having no children, Osborne said he strives to leave behind a legacy of service and kindness and is always willing to help or just sit and talk.
