The University of Central Missouri has learned that Alec Rush, 20, Lee’s Summit, died Tuesday, April 17, due to injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Connection Point Church, 10500 E. Missouri 350 in Raytown. The funeral follows at noon at the same location.

It occurred when a deer crossed in front of him while driving on Highway 291 near Lake Winnebago Monday evening. A 2016 graduate of Summit Christian Academy in Lee’s Summit, Alec was a junior majoring in education at UCM with a goal to become a history teacher.

The UCM community is deeply saddened by the loss of Alec. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family, whom we are keeping in our thoughts.
