Audrey Lee Odle, 82, of Holden, Missouri, died Tuesday Nov. 7, at Crown Care Center,
Harrisonville.
Visitation will be Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at New Life Fellowship, 400 S. Main St. in Holden, followed by funeral services at the church at noon.
Audrey was born on Feb. 6, 1935, the daughter of Richard (Dick) Odle and Mildred (Moody) Yates. She grew up in Texas County, Missouri on a farm at Hog Creek. She attended grade school at Cleveland “Possum Trot” School and then Houston, Missouri, High School and then the University of Missouri, Columbia.
She was married to Doyle Odle on June 24,1956. They were married for 47 years before Doyle died. They were the parents of four children. Audrey accepted Jesus Christ as a young girl and later was a member and teacher at Bear Creek Baptist Church, Holden, Missouri. Audrey loved the color red, Dairy Queen ice cream and three Musketeers Bars her whole life. Her favorite hobbies were sewing, reading and jigsaw puzzles. She followed her grandsons sporting events so frequently, that she was known as “Granny” by their teams. One of her favorite sayings was “cost you a quarter” though a hug or a kiss would be better.
Audrey is survived by one son Jerry and wife Lois Odle, Holden, Missouri; three daughters, Marilyn Odle, Waynesville, Missouri; Shirley and husband Kirk Haushahn, Gilbert, Arizona; and Janet and husband Michael Todd Caruthers, of Auxvasse, Missouri. Two grandsons Adam and wife Christiane Odle, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; Andrew and wife Paula Odle, Grandview, Missouri. Five great grandsons Keaton, Asher, Declan, Nathan, and Simon. Also, a host of nephews, nieces, and friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Doyle, Oct. 2, 2003, her parents and one sister, Betty.
