Bobby R. Jones, of Holden, Missouri, died Saturday, May 28, at his home.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Holden with Father Pete Savidge officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Holden with full military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5844 and Munday-Hancock Post 90, American Legion. Pallbearers will be Brian Jones, Kevin Gardner, Bob Gardner, John Dean and Destry Hough.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Bob was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Pittsville, Missouri, the son of Clark and Allene (Slack) Jones. He was raised near Pittsville and graduated from Holden High School. He enlisted in the United States Army, and served as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. Bob was united in marriage to Linda S. Gardner on March 28, 1964, in Warrensburg. The couple resided in Holden for the past 52 years. Bob was a tool and die technician with Western Electric, later known as AT&T, until retiring. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and he enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; son, Brian Jones, of Raytown; and sister, Sandra Dean, and husband, Allan, of Holden; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Jones; his parents and brother, Larry Jones.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Calvary Cemetery Association or Crossroads Hospice in care of Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.
