Brenda Tabor, 74, of Warrensburg, died Friday, Feb. 28, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at the First Presbyterian Church in Warrensburg with the Rev. Heather Jepsen officiating.
Private interment will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
She was born Feb. 22, 1940, in Cooperstown, Ill., the daughter of John Joseph and Beulah Maxine (Wells) Palian.
She was united in marriage to Richard Tabor on June 13, 1964, in Decatur, Ill.
Brenda was a gifted teacher. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Drake University. Brenda spent 34 years teaching school, 25 of those years in the Warrensburg School District teaching kindergarten. She treasured all her friends and students she met while teaching. Brenda was proud to have taught so many students and then to teach those students’ children years later. She was a loving teacher who inspired her students to be lifelong learners. Brenda was a member of the PEO, Chapter MI, a former member of Secunda Club, and her favorite Thursday bridge group. She traveled the world with husband and family. Brenda enjoyed shopping, playing bridge, gardening, and reading. She was happiest spending time with her husband, daughter, granddaughters, and her dog, Daisy.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Harvesters or the PEO Foundation, and all can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
