Charles ‘Donald’ Lycan

Charles “Donald” Lycan, 82, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, died Saturday, Feb. 21, at St. Luke’s East Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home in Holden. Interment will follow at the Holden Cemetery.

He was born March 20, 1932, in Holden Missouri, the son of Jay Lycan and Viola “Grove” Lycan. In 1966, he moved to Pleasant Hill from the Centerview, Missouri, and Peculiar, Missouri, communities. Charles was a Heat Treat worker for Bendix, in Kansas City, Missouri. He also spent time as a volunteer for the Red Cross and the Boy Scouts.

Survivors include his wife Harriet I. Lycan, of the home; three sons, Don Lycan, Pleasant Hill; Robert Lycan, Pleasant Hill; Walter J. Lycan, Pleasant Hill; one daughter, Luella Gustafson, Ankney, Iowa; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
