Connie Rea Heatherly, 84, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Sunday, June 3, at Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg.
Memorial Services were 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Pastor Justin Danielson officiating.
There was a memorial visitation from 3 p.m. until service time, Tuesday at the funeral home.
Connie was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Warrensburg, daughter of Harry H. and Bertha E. Staley. She graduated from Warrensburg High School and with a Bachelor of Science from Independence School of Nursing.
She married Ronald Lee Heatherly on Aug. 31, 1957, in Warrensburg. The couple soon moved to Rolla, Missouri, where their two children were born.
In 1962, they moved to Montreal, Canada. They later made their home in Vancouver, Canada, and Winnipeg, Canada, prior to moving to Sao Paulo, Brazil. They eventually lived in Minneapolis prior to relocating to Warrensburg. While in Warrensburg, Connie was a financial aid counselor at University of Central Missouri for several years.
She was a member of Northside Christian Church and the Foster Grandparent Program for the Warrensburg school district. Connie was a grandmother for many different families. She enjoyed needlework and she was a great cook. Connie was also an avid reader, TV watcher and a very devoted UCM and Royals fan.
Survivors include daughter: Gail Heatherly and significant other, Neil Pessin of New York, New York; son: Douglas Harold and wife, Kelly of Spartanburg, South Carolina; sister: Mildred Fern Weldon of Tampa, Florida; sister-in-law: Wanda Bea Baxter of Oregon and two granddaughters: Amanda Heatherly and Jessica Heatherly.
