The Crest Ridge boys basketball team took down Northwest Thursday, 52-29.
After trailing by one at the end of the first period, 12-11, Crest Ridge came back to lead 24-16 at halftime.
“I thought we came out sluggish to start the game and that’s my fault,” said Crest Ridge coach Heath Heckadon. “I have to have them ready to go. I thought the boys did a real good job of fighting through a poor shooting night. Our defense was swarming with intensity. It’s always positive when you don’t shoot the ball well and your defense can carry you to a victory. This group is fun to coach they hustle their tails off.”
Hayden Stringer had 11 points for Crest Ridge. Cole Heckadon had 14 points and was 6-6 from the free-throw line. Jake Brookshier had eight points, and Taylor Nagel had six points.
Crest Ridge was 18-24 from the free-throw line.
