Dale Eugene Breshears, 75, Topeka, Kan., died Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Legacy Nursing Home in Topeka.
Graveside services and burial with military honors will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, at Shiloh Cemetery, South of Warsaw, Mo. under the direction of Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home, Holden, Mo. There will be a brief visitation prior to the services in the adjacent chapel.
Dale was born in Fairfield, Mo. on May 15, 1938 to Elvin Edmond and Mary Melissa (Jackson) Breshears. He served an enlistment in the U. S. Marine Corps in the late 1950s. Following military service, he worked for the Rock Island Railroad as a switchman, a trainmaster, and retired as a yardmaster after 29 years of service. In later life, Dale was an avid snowmobiler and dealer.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Breshears, Topeka, Kan., and Mike Breshears, Tonganoxie, Kan.; two sisters, Elnora Alexander and Elaine Campbell, both in Warsaw, Mo.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Joe Campbell of Holden, Mo. is a nephew.
