Deloris Thomason, 79, Holden, Missouri, died April 29, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be Friday May 4, 6-8 p.m. at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, 407 S. Pine in Holden, Missouri, 64040.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home.

Deloris was born June 22, 1938, to Leonard Aldridge and Beatrice (Carrell) Aldridge in Latour, Missouri.

She graduated from Holden High School and married Glenn Thomason March 1, 1958, and they had one son, Brian, who preceded her in death in September 2009. Deloris worked as a bookkeeper for Allis Chambers. Deloris loved working in the garden and taking care of her plants and flowers, but her real passion was genealogy.

She spent many hours researching her family history and spent a lot of time at different courthouses collecting documentation to confirm what she had researched. She also loved her time she spent with her son Brian in the Archery Club and the competitions they attended. She always said that God gave her Glenn to teach her patience.

Deloris was also preceded in death by her brother Leonard Aldridge and two sisters, Ophelia Dimare and Blanche Dimare.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn, of the home; one niece Dixie Peoples, and many other nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Deloris Thomason to Bear Creek Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home.
