Dear Editor,

The past few meetings at Warrensburg City Council have not exactly gone smooth with arguments and shouting matches breaking out between elected officials. This is a complete embarrassment to Warrensburg and its citizens. No government should conduct itself in the manner that the current council has. It has real negative implications as well. These actions are exactly why we see a growing distrust and dislike toward government, which is immeasurably unfortunate. And with so many critical positions needing filled, such as City Manager and Police Chief, it is sure to make even the most qualified people second-guess if they want to work in such an environment. And that’s completely understandable. We will feel these impacts for some time to come. It’s time the council starts acting civil and if they can’t maybe we need to reconsider who we vote for. Warrensburg deserves better than this.
