Doris Marlene Weigand, 84, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Monday, Jan. 11, at Western Missouri Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with the Rev. Louie Lowe and Pastor Mike Kiely officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Clint, Chad and Kurt Weigand, Jason Burk, Hugh Smith, and Gene Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Watts, Earl Downing and Omer Frank.

Doris was born Oct. 5, 1931, in Centerview, Missouri, the daughter of Dewey Johnson and Ruby Haun.

Doris graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1949 and attended business college in Kansas City.

She and Jim Weigand were united in marriage on March 25, 1951, in Warrensburg.

Doris was a former member of Houts Chapel Methodist Church and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg. She was a member of the Glendale Homemaker Club, and she loved spending time with and cooking for her children and grandchildren. She especially liked watching her grandchildren show livestock.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, of Warrensburg; three sons, Michael Weigand, and wife, Mary Elizabeth; Steve Weigand and wife, Debbie; and Danny Weigand, all of Warrensburg; seven grandchildren, Alysse Weigand, of Kansas City; Clint Weigand and wife, Kelly; Chad Weigand and wife, Mandy; Jessica Burk and husband, Jason; Jamylin Weigand, Rachel Weigand and Kurt Weigand, all of Warrensburg; and three great-grandchildren, Colie and Paisley Weigand, and Deacon Diesel Burk.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ruberta Shanks.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg or the Show-Me Christian Youth Home and may be left in care of the funeral home.
