Edna Imogene (Miller) Foster, 97, of St. Clair, Missouri, formerly of Kingsville, Missouri, died Sunday, Feb. 28, at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home in Holden, Missouri, with burial at Kingsville Cemetery immediately following the memorial service.

Edna was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Warsaw, Missouri, the daughter of Max and Alma (Davenport) Miller. She attended a small country school near Warsaw before graduating from Adrian High School in 1936 in Adrian, Missouri. Edna married Samuel E. Foster on April 24, 1937. To this union, three children were born, Ray, David and Michael.

Edna was a member of the Kingsville Baptist Church and the Gingham Girls in Kingsville, Missouri. After her husband Sam’s death in 1963, she returned to school and obtained her LPN License in 1974 from the Warrensburg Area Technical School.

Edna had a keen interest in civil war history, genealogy and family history. Edna was a voracious reader and loved to spend time outdoors. She was always up for a “road trip” forever wanting to see what was around the bend. Known for her sharp wit, smile and positive spirit, she often said, “Each day you wake up, you can choose to be happy or choose to be sad. I choose to be happy.”

Edna was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Ray and Michael; one grandson; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Faye Blankenship and Marianna Fritts.

Edna is survived by her son David (Lorna) Foster of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; daughter-in-law Evelyn Charlene Foster of Nashville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; 23 great-Grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Kingsville Baptist Church or the Benton County Historical Society in Benton County, Missouri.
