Ethel M. Daugherty, 99, of Warrensburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Western Missouri Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 31, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Ethel was born Aug. 24, 1917, the daughter of Charles and Mary Kathryn (Burge) Iseminger.
On Nov. 11, 1938, she and Marion Daugherty were united in marriage in Warrensburg.
Ethel attended the Pentecostal Church of God in Warrensburg. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and also served as children’s pastor. She was also a pastor for Ridge Crest Nursing Home for many years. She was a very active member of the Oddfellow/Rebecca Lodge for more than 50 years, including being a member of the Past Noble Grand. She and Marion used to serve and volunteer at the Warrensburg Senior Center.
Ethel is survived by two daughters, Cathy Gonzagowski, and husband, John, of Raytown, and Ima Truex and husband, Jim, of Warrensburg; a son-in- law, Calvin/Frank Summit, husband of Patsy, of Warrensburg; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and eight great great-grandchildren, including two foster great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including one biological niece, Joyce Speas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marion, a daughter, Patsy Summit, and five brothers, and their spouses.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Warrensburg Food Pantry and can be left in the care of the funeral home.
