From There to Here – Re-imaging Graffiti and Street Art
September 27, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Photographer Katrina Revenaugh has traveled the world, capturing small vignettes of graffiti as she sought out interesting details of walls, tunnels or decaying buildings with a focus on elements such as color, line, and patina.
Revenaugh hopes to make people appreciate graffiti in a new way. On Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Arts and Crafts Room of the Warrensburg Community Center, 445 East Gay St., she will discuss how she shoots in vibrant and visually chaotic urban environments, her process, and the ways she shares and markets her art as she presents “From There to Here”—Re-imaging Graffiti and Street Art.”
All MMA meetings are free and open to the public. Those attending are asked to enter through the main doors.
Revenaugh is an ArtistINC fellow, member of the Kansas City Society of Contemporary Photographers, a Guild it Alumni, participates in ArtsKC’sNow Showing Program, and is on the board of the Kansas City Artists Coalition. She currently has work in the Guild it exhibit called Coloring it Bold at the Johnson County (Kansas) library and will have work in two upcoming juried shows: Bits & Pieces at Inter Urban Art House and the Prairie Village State of the Arts Exhibition.
