August 21, 2015 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Jazz scholar Scott DeVeaux will present a lecture titled “Multiphrenia: A New Approach to Charlie Parker” from 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, in the Utt Building, Room 100, at the University of Central Missouri. A professor of music at the University of Virginia, DeVeaux is author of “The Birth of Bebop: A Social and Musical History” (University of California Press, 1997) and coauthor with Gary Giddins of “Jazz” (Norton, 2009).
