Old Drum Open Mic

The next Old Drum Open Mic in Warrensburg will take place from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at Java Junction.
Old Drum open Mic programs are free and open to the public.
Writer Deborah Evetts will take the stage for the first time at Old Drum Open Mic presenting two poems, “Wisdom” and “To My Children.” Jessica Paxton has also slated two poems for the evening, “I Forgive You” and “An Ode of Verbal Vengeance.” Barb Curtis will present an original poem as well.
Jo Narron has worked up two original songs, “Where Were You Moon?” and “Living In The Here And Now.” Scott Umphrey will provide a memoir piece, “Please Tell Me You Did Not!” Eddie Osborne has scheduled an essay on the importance of kindness. Dawn Eich will present two pieces from her memoir publication The Other Female, “The Napkin” and the “The Cheeseburger Theory.” Gloria Brown and Phil Wagner will each provide a couple of their favorite tunes.
Old Drum Open Mic is designed to provide a platform for area writers, composers, diarists, songwriters, poets, essayists, playwrights and comics to present their creative works in front of a local audience. The series is nearing its sixth year of service, promoting creative efforts throughout the region.
