Old Drum Open Mic

Warrensburg’s Old Drum Open Mic is set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, in the back room of Tranquility Shop, 218 N. Holden St. in downtown Warrensburg.

Warrensburg writer Clifton Adams will present another selection from his novel, “The Symbiotic Club,” in an installment called “Military Games IV.”  Adams has also prepared a piece that he published in The Huntsville Times titled “The Value of a Coke.” Following the beverage theme, local memoirist Scott Umphrey will share his personal recollection “Wine 101.”

Phil Wagner will share two songs from his folk and bluegrass past. Mark Pearce will present a few poems. UCM English student Julia Landrum will present poetry and prose works, and Dave Whisker will present part five of “The Prophet on the Wall.”

Old Drum Open Mic takes place the first Thursday of each month and is open to anyone who would like to present original and creative works. Time slots are limited to 15 minutes. Walk-ins can usually be accommodated, but readers who would like to participate can post their intentions to the Old Drum Open Mic Facebook page.
