The Veterans Assistance League will host its 15th annual Scramble for Freedom Golf Tournament on June 3 at Royal Oaks Golf Course at Whiteman Air Force Base.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

The cost is $240 per team and includes lunch, cart and greens fees.

The format is four-man scramble and teams compete for cash prizes. The day’s events also include putting and closest to the pin contests, as well as door prizes and raffles. Golfers from all over West Central Missouri and Eastern Kansas participate in this event.

Corporate sponsorships cost $500 and hole sponsorships cost $200. Individuals, businesses and organizations are also invited to sponsor a golf cart in honor or in memory of their favorite veteran for $50. They may include a service photo of their veteran with this sponsorship.

Proceeds will go toward programs that enhance the lives of the 200 veterans who live at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.
