Everett L. Newport, 82, of Chilhowee, Missouri, died Friday, July 22, at Holden Manor Care Center in Holden, Missouri.

The family will have a private service for Everett at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Ben Cast and Son-Wood Funeral Home.

Everett was born Jan. 1, 1934, to James E. Newport and Velma E. (Foulks) Newport in Independence, Missouri. Everett married Martha Hieronymus March 30, 1955, in Independence. Everett spent most his life working Residential Construction. Everett and Martha moved to Chilhowee, Missouri in 2013. Everett is survived by his wife Martha, of the home; two sons, Everett W. Newport and wife Vickie, of Independence; Jamie P. Newport and wife Teresa, Independence; one daughter, Gianna M. Kirchner, of Chilhowee; one sister Grace Cummins, Independence; 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
