(COLUMBIA, Mo., AP) — A former youth director at a Columbia church has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for child sex crimes.
The Columbia Daily Tribune (http://bit.ly/2cqGKf9 ) reports that 44-year-old Dale Johnson was sentenced Monday for two counts of second-degree statutory sodomy and one count of possession of child pornography. He pleaded guilty in July.
He was arrested in March 2015 after an investigation determined he had sexually assaulted a girl multiple times starting in 2013. The investigation was prompted by a hotline call to the Missouri Division of Children’s Services.
Johnson was the youth director at Parkade Baptist Church until February 2015, when administrators learned of the investigation and placed him on leave. He later resigned.
