Gary Lee Zacharias, 62 of Holden, Missouri, formerly of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, died Tuesday, May 22, at his home.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Rev. Charles Brant officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lee’s Summit.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Gary was born Oct. 9, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Leonard and Evelyn (Morgan) Zacharias. He was raised in Kansas City, having graduated from Center High School. Shortly thereafter, Gary went to work at Lake City Ammunition Plant, where he would be employed for the majority of his adult life.

It was at the ammunition plant where Gary met Bridget L. Collins and the couple was married in Lee’s Summit on Dec. 31, 1986. The couple resided in Lee’s Summit until moving near Holden in December of 1988. Gary would eventually be forced into retirement due to medical reasons. He was a muscle car enthusiast, especially Chevrolet. He adored the couple’s dogs and cats.

Survivors include his wife: Bridget; mother: Evelyn Morgan of Holden; brother: Kenneth (Cindy) Zacharias of Springfield, Missouri; and several sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard; and mother and father-in-law, Leota and Robert Collins.
