Gilbert Wyand, 87, of Centerview, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 25, at home.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at the MissouriVeteransCemetery in Higginsville, Mo. Elder Clayton Foss will officiate to service.

Gilbert was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Milwaukee, Wis., the son of Victor Cheslick and Carol Melotik.

He married Ruberta Wyand on June 12, 1949, in Chicago, Ill. They moved to Centerview six years ago from Independence, Mo. Gilbert was a carpenter and served in the USCG Merchant Marines. Gilbert was a member of the Chilhowee Restoration Branch of Jesus Christ, in Chilhowee, Mo.

Gilbert was proceeded in death by his wife Ruberta of the home.

Gilbert is survived by one son, Keith Wyand, of Hudson, Fla.; four daughters, Deborah Henderson and Rhonda Phoenix both of HoldenMo.; Kim Secord of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Lisa Sylvester of Tipp City, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Services are under the direction of Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home in Holden.
